Assistant Principal Wong Kit, Augustine graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), later earning a Postgraduate Diploma in History and Liberal Studies Education, followed by a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies Education. With over two decades of dedicated service in Hong Kong’s education sector, he has amassed extensive teaching and leadership experience. His professional development includes completing CUHK’s “Preparation for Principalship Course for Aspiring Principals” and the Education Bureau’s “Newly Appointed Principals Training Programme”, solidifying his expertise in educational management.
During his academic years, Assistant Principal Wong excelled both intellectually and extracurricularly. He served as captain of his school’s inter-school academic and current affairs quiz team, was a key member of the basketball team, and held the position of Vice President of CUHK’s History Department Student Association. Upon entering the education field, he integrated his unique historical perspective and interdisciplinary pedagogical approach into daily teaching, greatly benefiting students. Prior to joining the Minxin team, he held various roles at Immaculate Heart of Mary College and Tuen Mun Catholic Secondary School, including Head of History, Chinese History, and Liberal Studies Departments, Academic Vice Principal, and Principal. He taught Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), and Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) curricula, with his students consistently achieving outstanding results. His classes are renowned for their rich content, engaging activities, and emphasis on cross-disciplinary knowledge and skills — perfectly aligning with Minxin’s educational philosophy of “Roots in Hong Kong, a Heart for China, a Global Outlook and Broad-minded Thinking”. He is committed to nurturing a new generation proficient in both English and Chinese, equipped with critical thinking skills and a thanksful mindset.
As an advocate for international education, he continuously enhances his knowledge of global educational trends, striving to bring international perspectives to Minxin. He believes education should transcend traditional classrooms, extending into boarding life. Drawing on the OECD’s “Learning Compass 2030” framework, he focuses on developing students’ transformative competencies — including creating new value, reconciling tensions and dilemmas, and taking responsibility — through the cyclical process of “Anticipation-Action-Reflection”. By integrating daytime learning with boarding experiences, he aims to empower each Minxin student to navigate their personal “learning compass”, actively engage with society, and prepare to become “transformative agents” who positively impact their communities and contribute to collective well-being.
In social services, Assistant Principal Wong has embedded a “service-oriented” ethos into school culture. He has established service-learning programmes and partnerships with NGOs, cultivating students’ positive values and spirit of serving others through value education and interdisciplinary curricula.
Now part of the Minxin family, he leverages his extensive experience to help build Minxin’s distinctive “Homeport—Boarding Family” educational ecosystem. This initiative ensures that while students explore oceans of knowledge, they also find solace and rejuvenation in a nurturing boarding environment, ready to embrace new challenges. Guided by the belief in “pursuing perfection”, he continually refines his professionalism, dedicated to steering students toward a future brimming with infinite possibilities.
