
Robert Liu
Mr Robert Liu, Assistant Principal (Secondary Division), is an educator with both profound academic expertise and rich practical experience. He has always upheld the educational mission of “respecting the individuality of students and empowering their diverse growth”.
Mr Liu earned his Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry (BSc) and Chinese Language & Literature (BA) from Beijing Normal University (BNU), followed by a Master’s in Education (MEd) in Curriculum and Instruction (Chemistry) from BNU. Later, he obtained a second Master’s in Education (MEd) with distinction in Comparative and Global Studies in Education and Development from The University of Hong Kong. His interdisciplinary academic background has infused his educational philosophy with a unique blend of scientific and humanistic perspectives.
Before joining Minxin School, Mr Liu served as a long-standing faculty member at Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE), where he held the position of Department Coordinator. During his tenure at SCIE, he led Professional Development workshops for teaching staff both within and beyond the school, organised Science Education Forums, and founded a range of student academic societies to foster intellectual diversity. He was awarded Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Class Teacher for his exceptional contributions to the school. His students have consistently achieved top honours in international competitions and gained admission to world-renowned universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, and Stanford. His educational impact has even earned special recognition from prestigious institutions such as Smith College.
Since joining Minxin Family in 2022, Mr Liu has been deeply influenced by the educational vision of Mr CY Leung, Chairman of the School Board of Minxin School, and Dr Halina Poon, the Head of School, and he has fully integrated these principles into his teaching and administrative work. Mr Liu’s teaching focuses on unlocking students’ potential and nurturing their spirit of inquiry, emphasising critical thinking and innovation in his classroom. In Teacher Professional Development, Mr Liu is consistently dedicated to leveraging Educational Technology (EdTech) to support subject-based teaching, fostering a collaborative and growth-mindset departmental culture characterised by “teaching passionately, teaching effectively, mutual support, and collaboration”. He is committed to empowering the faculty to cultivate future leaders in science and technology at Minxin School in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
As an educator with passion and dedication, Mr Liu believes that education is a journey of ‘Igniting Flames’, and he aspires to walk alongside teachers and students, ‘Igniting’ the infinite possibilities at Minxin School.
