Dr Elizabeth Ng



Dr Elizabeth Ng, Assistant Principal, received her Doctorate of Education from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, specialising in educational management. Along with her Master’s degree in Language Studies, as well as professional experiences in school administration, curriculum development, and teaching, she is a veteran and skilled educator in school administration and English teaching. Her passion in education has earned her a scholarship and the award of Outstanding Performance in Field Experience in commendation of her academic achievements and professional work. Her dissertation, titled Focus on Form in Content-based Language Classrooms, was published in the HKBU Papers in Applied Language Studies.

 

Having served in diverse teaching and leadership roles in Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School in Hong Kong and an educational organisation in China, Dr Ng has extensive experience in school administration, operational procedures, curriculum leadership, and English teaching. She is well versed with the local and international curricula, and has had years of experience teaching primary, secondary, and diploma programs, which include the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), the International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE), and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Moreover, she has expertise in preparing students for standardised tests such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Her students’ excellent results and admissions to world-renowned universities are best testaments of her teams’ passion and dedication.

 

As a curriculum leader, Dr Ng has led teams in developing school-based curricula, sharing best practices within the field, and examining teaching strategies in relation to student attributes. In addition to constantly updating the English curriculum to meet students’ varied and evolving interests, abilities, and needs, Dr Ng also leads professional development programs and workshops to promote teaching and learning. Being a resourceful leader and passionate educator, she was appointed as Teacher Advisor in a teaching practicum programme by a renowned university in Hong Kong.

 

Dr Ng wishes to continue her professional work and contribute to the ongoing success of Minxin school. She believes in excellence and aims to work collaboratively with all staff to maintain the school’s joyous and successful education. She envisions a brilliant future in which every student takes pride in his/her academic attainment, holistic development, as well as the realisation of his/her potential.
